Who am I?

Greetings! I’m Rohit Gharami, a storyteller who found his voice through the art of film editing. My journey began in the world of cinema long ago, but it was in 2018 that I decided to dive headfirst into my true passion and become a film editor.

As a freelancer, I started by collaborating with new and emerging filmmakers, many of whom were venturing into the world of storytelling for the first time. One project that holds a special place in my heart is A Ride In The Rain, a film written and directed by UItsab Ray. It’s incredibly rewarding to see this project gaining recognition, now part of the National Short Competition Section at the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with remarkable filmmakers like Debraj Naiya, Anirban Dutta, and Torsha Banerjee. Each collaboration has been a unique learning experience, shaping not only my professional journey but also my perspective as a storyteller.

In 2020, I proudly earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Media Science, adding academic insights to my practical experience in the world of media and storytelling.

But my story doesn’t stop at film editing. I’ve always believed in the power of a multidisciplinary artistic approach. Beyond the editing room, you’ll find me exploring alternative photography methods, experimenting with Cyanotype Printmaking, composing music, and immersing myself in the world of theatre.

As I continue on this cinematic adventure, I invite you to join me in exploring the boundless possibilities of storytelling. Through film editing and a tapestry of artistic endeavors, I aim to weave narratives that resonate, captivate, and linger in the hearts of those who experience them.

Welcome to my creative journey!
